Digital Photographs
By suspending an astrolabe by the ring at the top, the observer used the adjustable sighting rule to determine the position of a celestial body. The central astronomical markings were used for calculations. Information on this astrolabe also includes degrees and hours, a map of the world and signs of the zodiac.
