Portrait of John James Audubon, the naturalist, seated on a rock in hunting clothes, coat open, gun resting on his left knee, hat on ground. His hound dog lies at his left foot next to saddle in lower right corner. At his right stands a horse with another grazing behind it. Inscription: Label "Painted at Minnies Land in 1841 by John Woodhouse and Victor Audubon for Lewis Morris."
