Oil painting. John Audubon at age 59 upon his return in 1843 from Missouri River Expedition. 3/4 length portrait of subject with beard, seated holding gun in hands, full face, dressed in green coat, brass buttons, fur collar and cuffs. Thought to be the finest portrait.
