The first section opened in 1877; building completed 1899. It is one of the largest Natural History Museums in the world. It contains a technical library of 46,000 volumes besides many notable collections. The lecture Hall seats 1400. There are over 500,000 visitors annually. Exhibit Halls contain 213,000 sq. ft.
