Arthur August Jansson

Arthur August Jansson was a prolific painter who worked with the American Museum of Natural History as a field and background painter. Jansson was trained at the Art Students League in New York. He also trained at the New York Industrial Arts School and the School of Modern Methods in Chicago.

Jansson worked on the AMNH's Hall of Asian Mammals, the Akeley Hall of African Mammals, and the Birds of the World Hall. He showed prolifically in New York and abroad for his entire life and did several cover illustrations for Natural History Magazine.
